I guess since the hurricane ? Arrived for one day off a carnival cruise, planned to just chill at a beach. Would not like to go back Pros: This restaurant is yards away from the one destroyed in the hurricane of It is a large lovely wood building that is built to look like it has been there many yearsand has both inside and outside seating We opted for outside and had great views of watercraft rounding the spit.
The evening we were ther we saw only 2 other couples. It is really off the beaten path. They are known for excellent food and for feeding local sharks at 7 and 8 PM. We left earlier, but some were already there and were fed a little then. Some looked to be in the 5 foot plus range. Now, to the foof. I had a delicious grouper cordon bleu, and my wife had a delicious pan fried grouper. We of course also had the everpresent peas and rice. Patrice was an excellent server. The bartender made an excellnt "yellow bird".
They deserve more customers. Recently went on the carnival sensation where I had a stopover for the day in freeport. Beach excursions very expensive from the ship so we did our own thing. Shared a minivan taxi to port lucaya marketplace 5. Its free unless you want to rent a beach chair or use the pool which is for guests only thats 20 per person for adults Very clean and nice there and the radisson has a little store with snacks and water and restrooms.
Any questions let me know. I highly recommend this resort but I met many other travelers who felt the same way about their own resorts. I expected the island to be beautiful and I was not disappointed. The resort staff made us feel welcome and the accommodations were exceptional. I expected hospitality at the resort and the tourist venues. What I didn't expect was the high level of hospitality I experienced by the Bahamian citizens everywhere I went.
These have got to be the most pleasant people I have ever met anywhere. And don't be afraid to walk down the street to where the locals gather I recommend snorkeling at Paradise Cove. Although the water was not as clear as my snorkeling at the Captain Cook monument on the Big Island of Hawaii it was beautiful nonetheless. The International Bazaar in Freeport has taken a big hit from the problems our economy is going through and many of the shops have closed.
