I'm planning a tip to Dubai in the March and planning in staying at hotel that is marked as guest friendly on the "gfriendlyhotels-dubai" website, Traders Hotel to be exact. I am travelling from Europe on my own to meet my girlfriend who is a resident in Dubai but is not Muslim neither of us are.
My hotel is booked but it's booked for one person and my check in time will be too early in the morning for her to accompany me. Since I've never been to Dubai I am not "street" smart on how things operate but I know that co-habitation is against the law but some places turn a blind eye to it to allow for the tourism industry. Does anyone here have similar experience in this matter? Would really appreciate some advice as I'm quite anxious about it.
Many thanks in advance! Usually this is not a problem as u can have guest with you in hotel. But depending on which hotel you are staying they might object bringing guests so choose a reputed brand of hotel instead of going for costless options to ensure u dont get disappointed and are able to spend time with your gf.. Another imp factor to get noticed is the ethnicity of u and your gf.. If u are from West and she from East or vice versa u stand more chances to get noticed.
Soon as you check in to hotel find out the nes of pubs or restaurants in your hotel.. Dubai is a liberal place so dont worry..
Many thanks for your reply Neeraj and for the helpful advice about the bars! I was still just curious if its necessary to register the guest with reception? I'm not sure if there are hotel security checking for these types of situations so I'm not sure if its better to register my girlfriend or "sneak" her in. Registering could call uncesscary attention but also so could sneaking her in.
