A really wonderful set of photo's - I had no idea US soldiers were in those mountains. Picture 30 demonstrates so well that the USA stands for all faiths. If I were younger I'd volunteer After he chose and they killed him, he and the other son were also murdered. How comfortable it is to sit at home and look at these photos, safe in the knowledge that all this fighting is taking place, far, far away. I won't comment on the Army's reasons for being there, but I sympathise with the actual people who face scenes like these every day.
On image 14 the guy on the right is using an early version of the SVD Dragunov - an interesting choice if he is a US soldier I would not have expected that. Image 8 with the monkey truly depicts the necessity of company, even in the most dire and isolated of situations. Hate war, love our troops. Hate the Talibananas for starting this.
Thanks for showing us just how primitive and brutal the terrain is. Some of those forward posts are crazy! I have utmost respect for the men who occupy them. A BIG thank you to all that serve in the armed forces. My family and I owe you a debt we can never repay.
I am honored and humbled by your willingness to serve. May God keep you and bring you home swiftly, mission fully accomplished. Excellent pictures, excellent collection. I'm in no way happy with the war, but many of the people over there are doing an excellent job and going to a pretty rough time. One thing I didn't like: Jean-Marc Liotier, he is the same guy as photo On a technical note. Item 6 showing the shell leaving the mm is incredible. Mighty fine shootin' there Mr.
To whomever posted these pictures, thank you. My son who is a National Guard member, leaves Baghdad for Afghanistan this week. He volunteered for a 6 month tour in Iraq earlier this year his second and a several month tour in Afghanistan with two weeks leave in the middle that were cut short due to our Presidential elections.
